The trust deals with a wide range of rangatahi who may have experienced poverty, domestic violence, drug/alcohol abuse and the social challenges that arise from these issues. These children are highlighted and identified through various agencies for interventions. TAYT generally works with children for up to 3 years. Whether it is taking them out for a hot chocolate and a chat, fishing, climbing Mauao or helping to fund interventions to support their learning or sports. The trust runs a variety of programmes aimed at increasing and encouraging positive behaviour and decision making.

THE TRUST

Working in conjunction with the NZ Police and Ministry of Education we provide a number of interventions for vulnerable rangatahi between the ages of 7-14.

Founded over 25 years ago from a desire to provide disadvantaged youth with the tools for a positive future, the trust provides role models who help to instil a sense of pride in our rangatahi, teaching them life skills that are taken for granted by many.

We work in the Tauranga/Mount Maunganui Bay of Plenty locality so you can be sure you are helping someone close to home in your local community.
